I’ve posted lots of new hi-res shots here - feel free to use them as desktop wallpapers, or whatever (commercial use excluded.)
I used the HDR technique to create 8 bit jpgs out of several 8 bit jpgs 1 ev apart. They’re first mapped to 32 bits, then compressed back down to 8 using curves adjustments. The main advantage is decrease of contrast sufficient to render bright clouds and shade under the tree in the same 8 bits of range
A secondary advantage is sometimes a huge increase of saturation. Well anyway.. click link or one of the images below to get to the gallery. The images have a download link (the down arrow symbol) underneath - I posted these at pretty high resolution
crocuses, with hail on them. It was actually hailing on me when I was trying to shoot this.

here is one of my favorite macro lenses. The 50mm f/2 nikkor-h manual with a 12 mm vivitar extension tube:
This badboy set me off 40 USD incl shipping via Ebay. It’s manual focus, and with the extension tube, my D200 can’t read the light so it’s manual exposure, too. Aperture ranges from f/2 to f/16, which I think is halved by the extension tube (not in terms of DOF, only in terms of exposure.)
So how good are the pictures? Here are some examples …
